November 15, 2002—MediaPoint, New England’s first dedicated business continuance center, has been launched, offering business continuance and protection for corporations’ critical data, systems and employees.
MediaPoint’s business solutions allow customers to continue their business operations in disaster situations. The continuance facility has been designed to meet the most stringent data back up and recovery requirements of leading financial, medical, life sciences, education and legal businesses. Unanticipated disturbances such as power outages, natural disaster and criminal acts have aided in the formation of laws and guidelines requiring financial institutions and health care providers to maintain more secure networks and redundant data systems. Similar guidelines are currently under review for other industries.
MediaPoint meets the recent recommendations by the Federal Reserve, Securities and Exchange Commission and the Treasury Department for financial businesses in New York to maintain back up facilities outside a one hundred mile radius from their Manhattan office.
“MediaPoint has all of the resources to act as an extension of the corporate network,” said Stephen Catanzano, CEO. “We offer self-manage services to customers who have the resources to manage their own data replication environment, or MediaPoint can provide complete managed solutions including network, storage and infrastructure management.”
