MegaStar brochure describes space-saving vertical storage and retrieval systems

October 15, 2001—A new six-page brochure from MegaStar Systems describes how automated vertical storage-and-retrieval systems can reduce storage space requirements, increase productivity, and add efficiency in facilities order processing and filing applications.

According to MegaStar, the high-density, vertical design of the MediaStation Electric Lateral File, MegaStation Vertical Carousel, and MegaLift Vertical Lift Module (VLMs) can recover up to 75 percent of a traditional storage system’s floor space when compared with racks and shelves used in facilities. Ergonomic configuration delivers stored items to an optimum height for employees, minimizing bending, reaching, and lifting for improved picking efficiency and a reduction in job-related injuries. The design of the MediaStation Electric Lateral File is also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS).

Compatible file and inventory management software programs that add ease of use and efficient order processing to system operations are also described in the brochure. The brochure includes a step-by-step procedure that allows readers to calculate the return on investment, specific to their application requirements, possible with these systems.
