Meridian Systems and Dimension5’s new partnership extends power of Prolog via Web-based modules

January 27, 2005—Meridian Systems, a provider of enterprise project management software for optimizing capital projects, programs, and facilities, has entered into a new technology partnership agreement with Dimension 5 Solutions (D5), developers of Encompass software. Encompass extends the existing functionality of Prolog Manager and Prolog WebSite by automating the collection, verification, and entry of paper-based and electronic project data from numerous sources.

Meridian’s Prolog is the industry standard for successful construction project delivery, providing a complete project management software solution for more than 8,500 construction companies, engineering firms, and public and private building owners, according to the company.

As an authorized Meridian independent software vendor (ISV), D5 provides technology solutions and services to Meridian customers and partners that extend the capabilities of Prolog.

Prolog customers can streamline the management of e-mails, faxes, scanned documents, and Web data by taking advantage of the parsing, routing, storage, and retrieval features that the Encompass software provides, explains the company. Several large general contractors as well as retail and government owners in the AEC industry are already using Encompass to automate the capture of project information. Custom workflow rules can route the data to a central review and approval queue where it is assigned to individual or groups for further processing. Once approved the information can be submitted to Prolog with one mouse click to create new records or update existing ones.
