Meridian Project Systems (MPS) and Microsoft Corporation have teamed up to provide a complete project management and scheduling package for the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. The strengths of the MPS Prolog applications and the Microsoft Project 2000 are being leveraged to allow for the seamless integration of project management and scheduling data. MPS, a Microsoft Project Partner and Certified Solutions Provider, and Microsoft are educating mutual customers about the powerful tool created by integrating Prolog and Microsoft Project, which are both widely used by AEC professionals.
The integration between Prolog and Microsoft Project 2000 is the first of its kind for the AEC industry. Relevant data from Prolog can be imported into Microsoft Project and vice versa, improving project management and scheduling functionality. Mutual customers such as CB Richard Ellis, a global commercial real estate company, have already realized the benefits of integrating the two programs.
Efforts to integrate Prolog with Microsoft Project took effect last summer when MPS became a Microsoft Project Partner. The partnership is unique because MPS integrates Microsoft Project into its applications rather than re-selling it. This approach works well for MPS and Microsoft because Prolog and Microsoft Project are both user-friendly and Windows-based applications, and they have a common user base within the AEC community. In the coming months, MPS and Microsoft will continue to inform customers of the integration option and will improve upon the existing data transfer capabilities to make both programs even more cohesive.
