January 8, 2007—Milliken and Company’s 180 Walls, a woven recycled polyester fabric with a self-adhesive backing, is a Greenguard-certified wallcovering that was tested together with its adhesive.
This woven polyester wallcovering is less expensive than most fabric wallcoverings, has a self-adhesive backing, and includes antimicrobial and stain-resistant additives that don’t raise toxicity warning flags.
The polyester fibers are 100% recycled (pre-consumer, representing about 60% of the total product weight.
The water-based emulsion polymer adhesive on the back of 180 Walls is guaranteed for at least five years, and the company claims it will hold much longer when installed properly on primed drywall. This integral adhesive makes it feasible to install the product in occupied spaces with minimal disruption.
It can also be easily removed for repair or replacement without damaging the fabric or leaving a residue on the wall surface.
