March 24, 2008—This year’s MIPIM Awards were announced March 14 at the 19th annual MIPIM international property market show in Cannes, France. The MIPIM Awards honor the most outstanding real estate projects of the year, including the international jury’s first “Green Building” award.
The winners of the MIPIM Awards 2008, by category, are:
- Business Centers: Counsel of Europe—New General Office Building—Strasburg, France
- Refurbished Office Buildings: Unilever House—London, UK
- Residential Developments: Chimney Pot Park—Salford, UK
- Hotel & Tourism Resorts: Projekt Hotel Wasserturm—Hamburg Sternschanze – Hamburg, Germany
- Green Buildings: Crane Track—Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Special Jury Award: Crane Track—Amsterdam, Netherlands
MIPIM 2008 covered the major subject areas of investment, architecture, green buildings, and the hotel sector. This year’s show attracted a record number of over 28,000 participants from around 9,000 companies from 80+ countries. An extra 2,115 sq m of exhibition space was added for a total of 26, 580 sq m, with 2,500+ exhibiting companies.
