November 15, 2006—Montel, pioneer of high-density mobile storage shelving system solutions for office, institutional, and industrial applications, announces a major investment at its manufacturing facility with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art powder coating finishing system equipment along with the modernization of its paint line operations.

Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products. The result is an increase in finish uniformity, durability, quality, and attractiveness, Montel explains.
A number of factors can be attributed to the continued growth of the powder coating market, mainly environmental compliance, energy savings, efficiency, excellence of finish, and economy. Concerning the environmental benefits, while liquid finishes contain solvents that have pollutants known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), power coating contains no solvents and release negligible amounts, if any, of VOCs into the atmosphere. Finally, powder coating provides an attractive and durable finish, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, heat, impact, and abrasion.
