February 16, 2005—SmartShelf, the new flexible 4-Post shelving system by Montel, Inc., was designed to be “the most adaptable storage shelving system in the industry,” according to the company. It can store objects of various heights. Shelves are adjustable by one-inch increments with hooks for lighter objects, or by one and one-half inch increments with supports for heavier objects. In the same section, hooks and supports can be used together.
The 4-Post Shelving system, which has been granted a patent by the US Patent Office, is the only storage system that can be configured as a full-depth or back-to-back system, or a combination of both, according to the company. Full-depth shelves can be used for storing large objects of various lengths, while back-to-back shelves can be used for smaller objects.
SmartShelf was developed to optimize space capacity, says Montel, and exceeds the shelving system industry standards. Available in 39 3/8-inch-wide sections, SmartShelf can store three archive boxes without losing space capacity.
The easy-to-install storage system does not require tools to assemble, remove, or reconfigure shelves. And the full-depth double-side shelves can be put in or taken out without moving or taking off the shelves above or below, according to Montel.
