January 29, 2007—Morgan Lovell has launched a new sustainable office design service using its team of in-house BREEAM (British Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s “green building” rating system) trained designers to advise clients on all aspects of sustainable office design including “green” office building assessments, sourcing and using sustainable materials, space planning, the use of energy-efficient technology, and carbon neutral refurbishment.
After a workplace appraisal, the team conducts site surveys to see if the space considered can do everything needed. It is followed up with a report that includes some preliminary plans, plus costs and schedules. Enhanced capital allowances are reviewed when choosing energy-efficient items to claim money back from the government.
The team examines space requirements, comparative fit-out costs, future growth, office refurbishment vs. office relocation. A detailed report consists of preliminary space plans, estimated costs, site assessments, project plans, and online staff surveys.
