“Morgan Stanley tries out concierge service using “”lifestyle managers”””

Morgan Stanley UK is trying out “lifestyle managers” to aid its staff members in keeping their work-life balance. According to London’s Daily Mail, “they will tend to the uber-bankers’ every need, so long as it is legal and ethical, from walking the dog to organizing their wedding.” Although concierge services are growing in the US as well, Morgan Stanley chose a two-year old British company, Ten UK (short for Time Energy Network), for its services. According to Ten’s Web site (www.tenuk.com), it is “the first and largest of its kind in Europe.” Morgan Stanley joins nine other companies trying out Ten UK’s services in and around London, with tens of thousands of potential customers. Each member gets an account manager whom they are encouraged to meet. Two of the most-requested services are holiday booking and home repairs. Ten expects its growth to come mostly from corporate deals and other third-party arrangements as helping employees manage their lives becomes an important factor in recruiting and retaining them.
