March 12, 2007—Kozy Shack Enterprises, a manufacturer of refrigerated dairy desserts, has increased productivity in its New York and California production facilities by a combined 25 percent and improved inventory tracking using Motek’s Windows-based Priya Warehouse Management Software (WMS), the solution provider has announced.
Using Priya, Kozy Shack has increased efficiency and productivity in its manufacturing, a process that requires a minimum of three pick-and-ship waves: the raw product, cups and lids, and final packaging. Kozy Shack relies on Priya to track and manage both gross lots of inventory, such as 1,000-pound bags of sugar, as well as increments like smaller, pre-measured amounts of sugar, as they are picked and moved on pallets for use in production.
Once the desserts are packaged, the WMS directs the loaded pallets to refrigerated warehouses, maximizing the use of space and picking products for distribution to ensure fresh inventory based on date codes. With Priya, Kozy Shack has significantly reduced product loss due to short code or spoilage.
