MPF announces 2005 European management awards

November 11, 2005—The Managing Partners’ Forum (MPF) has announced its 2005 European Practice Management Awards recognizing the contribution of marketing, HR, technology, finance, knowledge, and facilities managers to the management of professional firms with a European presence.

Clifford Chance was honored for Best management of facilities, for the firm that has derived measurable business benefit from the use of its premises. The winner was praised for “delivering a world class facility to reflect the corporate ethos” and linking people, brand, business, and buildings. The innovative organization aims to improve work/life balance, and the needs of staff appear to have been at the heart of the project, with internal benefits such as health clubs.

KPMG UK was named Best Corporate Citizen, for the firm that has made managing its community and environmental impact an integral part of the way that it does business, while adding business value. The judges commented on “the breadth, depth and strategic approach KPMG takes to corporate citizenship.” Over 25 percent of KPMG staff in the UK are involved in local volunteer opportunities, and the company has reduced 10,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
