NACORE and IDRC Consider Merging

In a recent letter to their memberships, Linda Rains, CCIM, MCR, Chairman of NACORE International, and Roy F. Dohner, President of IDRC announced that the two organizations may merge. After citing the many ways in which the National Council of Real Estate Executives and the International Development Research Council are similar, the letter continues:

Separately, the two organizations have made great contributions to the corporate real estate industry. Together, the strengths of the two organizations — and their combined leadership and memberships — offer greater potential to advance the profession.

Recognizing this, with the support of their Boards of Directors, NACORE and IDRC are moving forward in examining the possibility of joining the two organizations. Over the next few months the leaderships of IDRC and NACORE will be exploring the synergies and challenges that we would face as a merged organization. In order to obtain an objective, fully-informed perspective, Deloitte & Touche has been engaged to help facilitate the discussions and to develop a roadmap for a potential merger.

The two leaders then asked for membership support and input during this process, urging members to send comments to local chapter leadership, national boards and the international leadership in both organizations within the next few months.
