January 30, 2006—In a landmark agreement that effectively extends its membership network into Mexico, the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), the nation’s leading organization representing the interests of commercial real estate executives engaged in industrial, office and mixed-use real estate, has signed a letter of cooperation with the Mexico Association of Industrial Parks (AMPIP).
The agreement between NAIOP and AMPIP, Mexico’s foremost full-service industrial parks association, will allow members from both organizations to take advantage of membership services, resources and other privileges to facilitate networking and joint business development opportunities, says NAIOP.
According to the agreement, NAIOP and AMPIP members will have full access to both organizations’ membership “Rolodex,” which members rely on to initiate business development activities, as well as discounted member-only pricing for conferences, educational resources and market research.
Senior-level representatives from both organizations further agreed to participate in cross-border events and conferences to facilitate strategic alliances and share market insights and understanding.
NAIOP also has well-established chapters in three Canadian cities—Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. When combined with NAIOP’s agreement with AMPIP to establish points of contact to markets in Mexico, NAIOP now provides its members with a single development network blanketing North America, notes the organization.
AMPIP, Mexico’s leading private organization assisting worldwide industries to set up industries in Mexico, was founded 17 years ago and represents more than 145 industrial parks located in North, Central and South America. More than 60 percent of Fortune 500 companies have operations in AMPIP industrial parks.
