November 12, 2004—NAPCO Security Systems has introduced two new products in its NAPCO Internet Video product line, VCAM-i Network/IP Video Camera and ViP-GATEWAY Universal 4-Camera IP Module.

VCAM-i Network/IP Video Camera is a video service that puts residential and commercial accounts online with fast broadband Internet video. Security personnel can watch the premises on any PC or video cellphone. The ViP-GATEWAY is a module that enables the connection of up to four analog video cameras of any brand to be monitored over the Internet.

A facility’s security system can be set to trigger video e-mails on alarm, for video verification, and on opening and closings with the VCAM-i. The video can also be auto-archived for later review. NAPCO says there is no sluggish dial up and no special software to install. 802.11G wireless networks are also supported. The camera is weather resistant, withstanding temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius up to 55 degrees Celsius.

ViP-GATEWAY Universal 4-Camera IP Module allows analog cameras to be put online. NAPCO says it is much more affordable than other dial-up models. Up to four cameras of any brand can be connected for seamless video verification and monitoring over broadband Internet. It has four channel video inputs, NTSC or PAL, and an e-mail send function. With 14 pre-alarm images per channel and a reset button, original settings may be reverted to with just the press of a button and pull of a plug.
