National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health to hold public meeting in March

February 27, 2002—The National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH), established to advise the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on matters relating to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, will hold its next meeting on March 12-13, 2002. The meeting, open to the public, will begin with an overview of activities of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Other agenda items include: a presentation on OSHA’s enforcement, compliance assistance, and regulatory issues, as well as a presentation by NIOSH on the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory, including its activities related to the World Trade Center disaster.

Written data, views, or comments for consideration by the committee may be submitted. Requests for members of the public to address the committee orally will also be considered, although there is usually insufficient time. The meeting will be held in Room N3437 (B-D), US Department of Labor, located at 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, from 1-5 p.m March 12, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m on March 13.

An official record of the meeting will be available for public inspection in the OSHA Technical Data Center (TDC) located in Room N2625 of the Department of Labor Building (202/693-2350).
