January 12, 2007—NCI Building Systems, Inc., signed a definitive asset purchase agreement to purchase substantially all the assets of Garco Building Systems, Inc., which designs, manufactures, and distributes steel building systems primarily for markets in northwestern US and western Canada. NCI is one of North America s largest integrated manufacturers of metal products for the nonresidential building industry.
The transaction is expected to expand NCI’s presence in Northwestern United States and Western Canada. Valued at $16.5 million, the acquisition is subject to completion of due diligence and satisfaction of customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed within the next 30 days.
Garco is based in Spokane, Washington; NCI is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
