A recent study concludes that to prevent neck pain, the amount of time spent working in a sitting position should be reduced, and more movement encouraged. For the study, published in the March edition of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the researchers examined neck flexion, neck rotation, and a seated posture as possible risk factors for the development of neck pain. The three-year study covered 1334 workers in a variety of industries, and found several contributing risk factors. For a synopsis of the study, visit Ergoweb.
