NEMA publishes selection and installation guidelines for fittings for use with flexible electrical conduit and cable

May 27, 2015—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) recently published NEMA FB 2.20-2014, Selection and Installation Guidelines for Fittings for Use with Flexible Electrical Conduit and Cable.

Previously published in 2012, NEMA FB 2.20 was amended to address possible incompatibility between cable dimensions and legacy MC cable fitting designs.

This standard provides practical information on proper product selection and industry-recommended practices for installation of fittings for flexible electrical conduit and cable in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

Guidelines provide installers and inspectors with an industry perspective of best practices in selecting and installing fittings for AC and MC cables, NM cable, FMC, LFMC and LFNC that NEMA members manufacture. Focus is placed on important fundamentals and recent changes to codes, product standards, and installation practices.

NEMA FB 2.20-2014 may be downloaded at no charge or purchased in hard copy for $103 on the NEMA Web site.
