June 27, 2003—Dauphin North America enters the soft seating arena with Egbert, a generously scaled, comprehensive sofa family where impressive proportions are desired—lobbies, reception areas, and any corporate space where impressive proportions are desired. Vigorously styled with robust dimensions and polished chrome detailing inspired by ’70s Post-modern looks, the Egbert group includes one-, two-, and three-seat units designed by Swiss-born Roland Zund. An accompanying, integrally designed table features an upholstered base and glass top with polished chrome supports. In the European tradition, each Egbert seating piece is crafted with the highest quality upholstery techniques for exceptional comfort, lasting value, and easy maintenance. Egbert can be upholstered in any fabric, leather, or COM.
Dauphin respects the environment, explaining that its upholstery techniques do not require glues that might harm the ecosystem. This also allows for easy, on-the-spot steam cleaning. In addition, Dauphin says its new manufacturing facility produces three times more seating with half the disposal costs; scraps are reused or disposed of sensitively.
Dauphin’s Egbert was introduced during NeoCon, held annually in June at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
