June 17, 2005—The Liberty side chair by Humanscale won a Gold award in The Best of NeoCon competition.
The backrest of the chair, designed by Niels Diffrient for Humanscale, features an exclusive Form-Sensing Mesh Technology, in which three panels of non-stretch mesh are sewn together to create a contoured shape that provides perfect lumbar support for all users automatically, explains Humanscale. The backrest pivots for additional comfort, while the mesh seat has a frameless front seat edge that is both supportive yet soft.
Designed with the environment in mind, the Liberty side chair is made predominantly from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable die-cast aluminum. Overall, Liberty contains 80% recycled content and is 95% recyclable. The Liberty side chair is a companion to the Liberty task and office chair, which received a Best of NeoCon Gold in 2004.
