June 13, 2005—KI’s newest stack chair, called Daylight, has a mesh seat and back that comfortably conforms to the user’s body, weighs nine pounds, making it about 40 percent lighter than other stack chairs on the market, and can be moved easily and stacked by one person, according to KI.
It is intended for use in meeting rooms, common areas, and cafeterias. Daylight’s curved back offers users support and a soft rolled seating edge that provides ergonomic comfort. Designed for disassembly with steel and plastic components that are easily recycled, Daylight recently earned the Ecology Mark authorized by the Japan Environmental Association, the company says.
Daylight, offered in two neutral colors, has a list price of $295. It was introduced at the KI showroom during NeoCon 2005, at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, where the chair won a Gold Award in the Seating:Stacking category.
