June 17, 2005—A collaborative effort between Bruce Mau and Shaw Contract Group produced the L7 collection, “a new way to look at the world one pixilated hue at a time” to achieve color depth not typical in contract carpet. Blue, for instance, can be navy and ink and midnight and cobalt and azure and indigo, in squares measuring 24 inches, and 12 inches, and smaller squares, and squares within the larger ones, even in broadloom.
The new collection in its striking color manifestations was displayed at the Shaw Contract Group showroom in The Merchandise Mart during NeoCon.
