June 21, 2006—Ceiling systems displayed by Armstrong during NeoCon’06, at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, serve special purposes. Armstrong’s TechZone ceiling system organizes lighting fixtures, air diffusers, and sprinkler heads in a linear 6-in.-wide technical “zone” to create a cleaner, more monolithic ceiling visual. Armstrong’s Effects gains the look of real wood at a more affordable cost.
The totally integrated TechZone acoustical ceiling system uses only standard components. By partnering with the nation’s leading lighting, diffuser, and flexible sprinkler connection manufacturers, Armstrong provides an engineered, easy-to-specify ceiling system.
The new linear technical “zone” is pre-qualified for fit and finish and visually coordinates with the look of large-scale Armstrong Optima fine-textured ceiling panels. Without long lead times, the 6-inch-wide technical panels, light fixtures, diffusers, and sprinklers are available in lay-in and regular versions to ensure that all components align precisely for a uniform visual.
Effects is the new metal ceiling from Armstrong that captures a wood-look at costs well below real wood, and Armstrong calls it the first ceiling of its kind in the industry. The realistic image of wood is embedded onto a standard metal panel, eliminating problems associated with delamination. The wood-look powder-coated finish is created by an innovative process called FX Technology that also produces a consistent color tone and grain consistency.
Effects panels have a Class A Flame Spread Rating and are not affected by high humidity conditions. In cherry and maple finishes, the 2’x2′ metal panels are offered with either a square tegular or a patented Armstrong Vector edge detail.
