NeoCon’07: Awards highlight best new product offerings

June 13, 2007—Seventy-three awards were distributed in The Best of NeoCon 2007 competition of contract furnishings. The competition is a major product highlight during the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago. The Best of NeoCon competition, celebrating its 18th year, also awarded six Innovation Awards and four Editors’ Choice Awards.

The Best of NeoCon launches products that are new to the market. This year, there were 420 entries in 40 categories. The 53 judges included corporate, government and institutional facilities management executives, as well as business facilities interior designers. Their results were announced at a breakfast the first day of NeoCon, giving all attendees three days in which to see the winning products in their respective Merchandise Mart showrooms and exhibit suites.

The Best of NeoCon’07 is sponsored by Contract Magazine, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and McMorrowReport.com. All entries must be new to the marketplace. Categories in the competition range from furniture to fabrics, architectural products to software, lighting to flooring, wallcoverings to carpet.

The NeoCon World’s Trade Fair is held annually in June at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, providing three days of educational programs, speakers and products, displayed in 1,200 showrooms and exhibit suites throughout the Mart’s 1.2 million square feet of space.
