NeoCon’07: Harden’s Quin Collection features wood furniture with meticulous craftsmanship, ergonomic features

June 20, 2007—The Quin Collection, introduced by Harden Contract at NeoCon World’s Fair at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, makes a bold statement for sculptured wood of heirloom quality at a reasonable price, says the company.

Designed by Tom Newhouse, the Quin Collection offers ergonomic benefits: the patent-pending design adjusts up and down from 26 inches to 31 inches in height. This allows a comfortable, healthy desk height for nine out of 10 North American workers, including short women and tall men.

Keyboardsand users’ forearmscan lie on the desktop, eliminating the need for awkward keyboard trays and reducing the risks of repetitive stress injury and upper body and arm fatigue. Thus, chairs require less adjusting, so that tall users have adequate knee room, and short users can keep their feet comfortably on the floor.

Designer Newhouse maximized the hardwoods’ esthetic potential, eliciting sinuously curved horizontals, solid cherry bow-front drawers, and precisely placed dovetails. The hutch features a thoughtfully designed paper management system; its door is upholstered in leather subtly adorned with maple or nickel pulls.

Like all Harden furniture, Quin is made of trees grown and harvested in Harden’s 10,000-acre, environmentally managed forest which it has owned for the past 160-plus years.
