NeoCon’07: Jhane Barnes designs Jofco’s first sustainable casegoods collection

June 25, 2007—Jofco’s Tahké collection of freestanding furniture is designed to suit diverse office esthetics. Tahké marks the first all-green casegoods collection by Jofco. Each part of flexible and modular Tahké collection is sustainable—glue, veneer, and wood species.

The line, designed by Jhane Barnes, includes five desk styles: single or double pedestal, peninsula, rectangular or bullet shape desks; storage credenzas with or without knee space; and work surface storage towers for personal and media requirements.

Developed for longevity, Tahké starts with solid, 3-ply vertical cross core bamboo. All panels are finished with a water-based clear coat. Work surfaces are roll-coated with a UV-cured, water-based finish protecting wear points and minimizing damage. Tahk is available in two colors: amber and natural. These are not stains but natural bamboo color offerings.
