June 15, 2007—The Opus Overbed Table from Nurture, a Steelcase Healthcare Company, won the Gold Award in the Healthcare: Furniture category in the Best of NeoCon 2007 competition.
Opus focuses on accommodating nearly all activities that take place in the patient room in a “simple but thoughtful” way. The new design has two top surfaces: one stationary at standing height, ready for care providers, and the other a height adjustable patient surface with non-handed concave shape and soft corner radii for patient comfort.
The table is highly durable and has bumpers and edges that cannot be picked at by restless patients. Tabletop surfaces are of thermo-fused material with no visible seams, making it easy to clean.
The Best of NeoCon competition recognizes state-of-the-art product design, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability. The competition is conducted annually during June’s NeoCon World’s Trade Fair at the Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
