June 27, 2008—Arconas introduced Flyaway inPower to the contract seating industry at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair – North America’s largest contract furnishings trade show.
The new solution gives passengers safe, convenient and reliable power access from a comfortable seated position while awaiting their departure. Passengers will appreciate the convenience of recharging their laptops or PDAs while relaxing comfortably at the gate and not wasting time locating wall outlets intended for maintenance equipment. Bus, rail, ferry and airport terminals will improve the passenger experience by providing this highly sought after amenity, says the company.
Passengers can plug into Flyaway inPower to recharge personal electronic devices via traditional powercord or via USB cable. inPowerTM is programmable, and maximizes power distribution to many passengers from one wall outlet reducing need for costly facility electrical work. inPower can be added to any existing Flyaway standard seating unit or customized to other seating models.
Flyaway inPower is a smart power source with numerous built-in safety features that limits voltage output, protects children from inappropriate use and shields passenger’s electronic equipment from power spikes or surges.
