The new accessories not only increase the durability of the wall surface by protecting it from damage, but also offer more design options for the space, says the company. The Ekos Wall System is reported to be the industry’s first wood wall system that has no added formaldehyde, no detectable formaldehyde emissions, and is made from 78% recycled content.
More affordable than custom millwork, the environmentally friendly panels are available with either a perforated or unperforated wood veneer. Virtually invisible perforations allow the wall panels to absorb 45% of sound striking their surface, reducing noise levels and improving sound quality within a space.
The new chair rail accessories feature a mounting rail that can be used with either a decorative rail insert or an easel ledge. All of the new chair rail components are available in the same rich, natural wood finishes—maple, mahogany, light cherry and dark cherry—as are the decorative trims, moldings and other solid wood accessories in the Ekos line.
Rail inserts are also offered in black and an aluminum laminate, both of which complement the aluminum finishes available for the system’s vertical accent trims. All chair rail accessories are available unfinished for field painting or staining.
