June 16, 2008—Cambridge Sound Management, LLC, won a Gold Award in the Best of NeoCon product competition’s Workplace Technologies for its Qt PRO system, a new five-zone sound masking, paging and music solution. Qt PRO is a distributed audio system, integrating sound masking, paging and music for the price of sound masking, says Cambridge Sound Management. Miniature ceiling-mounted emitters project sound directly into the area of coverage. A single Qt PRO unit covers up to 150,000 square feet of work space over five zones.
Environmentally friendly, Qt PRO’s control electronics require only 8 watts of power per zoneabout the same as an exit sign.
Sound masking adds an unobtrusive white noise-like sound to the space. It can be installed in open cubicle areas, where distracting conversations affect productivity; private offices, exam rooms and counseling areas, where confidentiality is required; banks, pharmacies and waiting areas, where sensitive information is shared. Paging can be all-call or zoned to a specific area. Music input can be accepted from any standard audio source.
Qt PRO software controls are simple to configure and have been developed in response to facility professionals’ desire to control systems remotely via laptop or other mobile devices. For those not requiring software controls, the system can be adjusted and monitored from a front panel LCD interface on the unit itself. There is an automatic installation routine with step-by-step installation prompts.
The Gold Award was given at the Best of NeoCon Product Competition, a highlight of NeoCon World’s Fair held in June at the Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
