NeoCon’08: Gunlocke combines classic and modern in new Olla seating collection

June 27, 2008—Gunlocke, an industry leader in wood contract furniture, introduced the Olla seating at NeoCon this year. The company described the collection as a fresh, contemporary style for conference, guest and swivel seating .

Olla provides a subtle, elegant fusion of material and form due to its integration of natural wood elements, which creates an elevated interplay of aesthetics between surrounding wood furniture and interior architecture. It also uses the warmth and beauty of wood to create inspiring work environments, says the company.

Bringing this modern approach to classic design, Olla was designed in tandem by Mitch Bakker (IDa Design) and Joachim Jensen (Dygon Product Development), along with Gunlocke engineers. The result is a new collection of seating that combines aesthetic appeal with flexible function throughout all its elements: high- and low-back conference chairs along with wood leg and cantilever guest seating.

From mid-size to large conference rooms, the Olla swivel chair provides several design and ergonomic features for greater personalized comfort. These include a contoured seat back, synchronized tilt, pneumatic height adjustment, five-position tilt lock, seat depth adjustment and fixed or adjustable arms. Olla swivel chair offerings come with a choice of upholstered or urethane arm options.

The Olla collection also includes two frame styles for its guest seating offerings, so chairs can be tailored to a variety of environments and budgets. The metal cantilever frame guest chair is available fully upholstered, with or without wood veneer surround. It provides additional guest or conference seating for collaborative meeting rooms or casual tables in open, shared areas.

Olla’s guest frame chair comes with an elegant tapered solid wood leg design that is also available fully upholstered or with wood back appliqus. For more on Gunlocke and its Olla seating, see the Web site.
