June 9, 2008—The new LogiSon Acoustic Network Manager software was designed to capitalize on three important trends in building design and system control, says LogiSon.
It utilizes AutoCAD’s native file format, .DWG, the de facto standard for the interchange of CAD data; it controls highly localized building system functions from a central location; and it uses a wireless device to control building systems. The result is a comprehensive solution that provides benefits for stakeholders at each stage of the project, including LogiSon Acoustic Network suppliers, installers, acoustical consultants, and end-users, says the company.
Acoustic Network Manager’s AutoCAD integration allows users to design the layout of the LogiSon Acoustic Network in .DWG format and then use this custom visual interface to control its components, an industry first, says the company.
Because this visual interface is incorporated into the software and is unique to each space, users can geographically pinpoint and control individual components without referring to meaningless serial numbers or another source, such as a printed document. Everything they require is at their fingertips.
The end-user, such as a facility manager or maintenance staff member, can alter the network settings in minutes in order to accommodate changes to their organizational or structural requirements. There is no need to open the ceiling or hire an electrical contractor to alter the cabling. The CAD feature gives them clear visual control over their building. They can also upgrade this software more often, and much more economically, than if they had to regularly change physical equipment in order to take advantage of new features, notes the company.
The software will be demonstrated at the company’s showroom during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, June 9-11, at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
