June 16, 2008— Inspired by the traditions of the ancient Persian Empire, the Persian Dynasty modular carpet collection from Milliken Contract takes its design cues from beautiful beaded saris, hand-woven shawls, luxurious vintage fabrics and colorful, embroidered costume items. Designs are offered in a selection of rich, saturated shades, inspired by lush eastern landscapes, precious jewels, exotic spices and dramatic glowing sunsets as well as a range of cool, tone-on-tone neutrals.
Persian Dynasty, introduced at NeoCon World’s Fair, is the latest collection to make use of Milliken’s Convergence technology, says the company. Like other Convergence collections, Persian Dynasty combines texture with pattern and color to create a carpet with a new type of structure, dimensionality and depth.
Persian Dynasty comprises four designs, Knot Sari, Moroccan Roll, Ottoman Twist and Turkish Paisley. Turkish Paisley provides the collection with a high fashion, statement piece. The design is available in a range of bright colors for a retro, stencil-like effect as well as a selection of neutral shades for a classic, sophisticated and intricate woven feel. Ottoman Twist features a small scale grid-like structure that combines naturally with the intrinsic texture of the carpet to offer a timeless pattern with universal appeal. Moroccan Roll offers a new and twist on the traditional stripe. Knot Sari is a whimsical design that combines circular motifs with tonal bands of color to create a pattern that transitions dramatically yet effortlessly across the floor plane.
Persian Dynasty designs are supplied in 50cm modular format with integral cushion backing and optional TractionBack, a high-friction coating that allows the carpet to be installed without adhesives, thus eliminating VOCs and off-gassing. Like all Milliken Contract products, Persian Dynasty is PVC-free and produced with alternative energy.
