Nestlé: CO2 emissions down 16%, water withdrawal down 28%

March 24, 2008—Nestlé recently announced that in 2007 the company reduced its direct greenhouse gas emissions by 16% compared to ten years ago, and its overall water withdrawal by 28%, while at the same time increasing the total volume of goods produced by 76%.

In 2007, Nestlé invested over CHF 100 million in environment-related industrial improvements, as well as around CHF 170 million in new production facilities in Brazil, Pakistan, and China.

These actions and others are expounded in the company’s first Creating Shared Value report, which is available in English, French, German, and Spanish on Nestlé’s Web site.
