July 3, 2002—The American Council for Renewable Energy (ACRE), a membership nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, has been founded to bring renewable energy—solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, biofuels, and hydrogen systems—into the mainstream of America’s economy and lifestyle.
ACRE is open for membership to all organizations involved in, or interested in, renewable energy in America. The organization forges a nationwide alliance of renewable energy leaders by seeking membership from among industry, education, government, professional services, the financial community, the media, associations, nonprofit groups, and end users. It brings state and local groups together with national organizations, and builds new working relationships among users, suppliers, and financiers.
ACRE’s First Annual Conference and Membership Meeting will be held in Washington, DC, July 10-11, 2002.
