New company, Ecowork, will focus on green furniture design

July 26, 2006—Increasing demand for “green” has allowed the reintroduction of Ecowork as a stand-alone company operating from Washington State. Eco-designer Erez Steinberg continues to direct product design and Scot Davidson heads operations in Washington.

The Ecowork product line was conceived in 1996 by the husband-wife design team of Erez Steinberg and Gia Giasullo, of Studio EG. Ecowork designed and developed functional, high-quality, affordable and sustainable office furniture, using a remarkable 95% of recycled core materials. The Ecowork furnishings line earned praise for design and sustainability, including Best in Show Recognition at NeoCon 2000 and the International Design Sense Corporate Prize for Sustainable Design, in 2001.

The products were originally available only on a limited basis from Studio EG. However Ecowork is now a standalone business, serving the growing demand for sustainable office products.

Made from 95% recycled and rapidly renewable materials, Ecowork can make a genuine contribution to any sustainable project, notes the company. The natural materials and organic design lead to an open and productive workplace.
