October 17, 2001—The US Department of Energy’s Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT), which strives to improve energy efficiency and environmental performance in the core US industries, recently revamped its Web site to provide easier access to the office’s resources. The new site provides OIT news on the home page and industry-specific news on the pages for the various industries. The site also places special emphasis on nine industries: agriculture, aluminum, chemicals, forest products, glass, metal casting, mining, petroleum, and steel. Other features include a calendar of OIT events, a portfolio of research and development projects, a section devoted to best practices, and an Information Resources Catalog that contains publications, videos, software, and other information products and services for improving industrial energy efficiency and preventing waste and pollution.
