May 31, 2002—New Hampshire has enacted a statewide building code for all construction, referencing the 2000 International Codes.

The code adopted the 2000 International Building Code; the 2000 International Plumbing Code, the 2000 International Mechanical Code; and the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code. It is effective starting September 14, 2002.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA), which reported on the code, notes that it has many resources available for components whose states are considering code adoption. One tool is an International Code Adoption Resource Library CD-ROM that was developed in conjunction with several other building and construction industry associations, including the Building Owners and Managers Association and National Association of Home Builders. For more information about the CD-ROM, contact AIA at 202/626-7388.
