June 17, 2002—SMART Technologies’ new SMART Board 2860 features a 72-in. in-wall rear-projection interactive whiteboard, SMART Mirror Stand, and integrated projector with a short-throw lens. Easy to install into a wall or customized cabinet, the 2860 provides a complete rear-projection that is suitable for various room settings and configurations, including small spaces. While traditional mirror stands require 5-ft. to 6-ft. of space, the SMART Mirror Stand is only 25-in. deep and comes fully assembled, thus reducing set-up time and maximizing space.
Offering the same touch-control and annotation capabilities as the award-winning SMART Board interactive whiteboard, the newer 2860 is powered by SMART Board software, so that users can access and control computer-based applications by pressing on its touch-sensitive surface. Presenters can easily add a high degree of interactivity to sessions and draw attention to key information by annotating over any application with electronic ink. These notes can then be edited and printed, e-mailed, or saved for future reference.
