November 1, 2002—The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has published a report of the “New Strategies in Safety and Health at Work in the European Union” seminar held in July 2002 at the XVI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work.
Issue 20020526 includes “A New European Strategy,” by Bernhard Jansen, Director Employment and Social Affairs DG, European Commission; and national examples of strategic activities from Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
The European Commission also published a Communication in March 2002 called “Adapting to change in work and society: a new Community strategy on health and safety at work 2002-2006” on this issue. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work recently set up a Web page to provide information and updates on the future Community strategy, including other relevant EU activities and documentation.
