August 24, 2001—The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published a new guide for examining workplace premises for asbestos-containing materials, and recording the results. New regulations in 2002 will require over a million commercial buildings in the UK to be inspected for asbestos. “Surveying, sampling and assessment of asbestos-containing materials” is available from the HSE.
