October 12, 2001—The American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York is working with the New York Department of State Codes Division and the Technical Advisory Subcommittees to assist in the development of rules for the adoption of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The planned adoption was recently announced by New York Governor George Pataki.
Implementing the IECC will save New York consumers money by requiring minimum standards for the use of energy in homes, recreational facilities, industries, and offices that will, in turn, benefit the environment.
