March 11, 2002—The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has introduced a number of new and revised products to enhance use of the 2002 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC), reportedly the world’s most widely used electrical safety code. Issued January 1, 2002, the updated NEC contains more than 300 significant changes, including articles addressing administrative positions, transient voltage surge suppression, sensitive electronic equipment, fuel cells, and receptacles, cord connectors and attachment plugs.
The following supplemental products are designed to help new and seasoned users of the NEC to understand and to interpret the 2002 edition:
- National Electrical Code Handbook, 2002 Edition: Outlines best strategies and practices for electrical safety with clarification from NFPA electrical engineers. This edition includes the complete text of the Code and all new color illustrations. A table of contents precedes every chapter and the “Quick Glance Guide” and index help locate relevant text.
