July 29, 2002—The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has revoked the NIOSH certificates of approval for the Wen Mask Industrial Company model KR-795 N95 Filtering Facepiece Respirator (TC-84A-2531) and the KR-808 N95 Filtering Facepiece Respirator (TC-84A-2532), effective July 3, 2002. NIOSH has revoked approval because of the failure of these respirators to meet federal performance requirements, and the Institute’s determination that Wen Mask is not ensuring effective quality control for these respirators.
