February 18, 2005—Wynn Resorts & Casino has announced a multi-million dollar contract for its 111,000-square-foot casino to two companies for a video security system. The company chose manufacturer Honeywell for its MAX-100, a security system that will marry the resort’s CCTV systems, matrix switches, digital video recorders, point-of-sale data, monitors, and cameras. Systems integrator North American Video will install the system, including 2,300 cameras, over the next several months.
The 6-million-square-foot resort will feature 2,700 hotel rooms, 19 restaurants, numerous retail shops, a convention hall measuring 223,000 square feet and an 18-hole golf course, all on 197 acres that used to be the Desert Inn Resort & Casino.
Other features of the system to secure these amenities, as well as guests, are the ability to access video remotely, and Ultrakey, a programmable CCTV keyboard with touch-screen display.
