Oracle launches asset management solution for proactive maintenance

January 18, 2002—Oracle Corp. has launched Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM), a computerized maintenance management system designed to address the maintenance requirements of asset intensive companies.

Oracle eAM, enables companies to maintain their equipment proactively by scheduling planned maintenance tasks for each piece of equipment, rather than simply reacting to equipment failures. These maintenance plans can be adjusted dynamically and automatically based on changing conditions.

The module features an intuitive Web-based self-service interface designed for full-function use by maintenance engineers and trades people. Capabilities used for budgeting, planning, daily scheduling and work assignments are also available for power users like maintenance schedulers and supervisors. The module also supports the documentation and execution of procedures necessary to insure that quality, safety, and compliance requirements are fulfilled during the actual maintenance activity.
