Oracle unveils Warehouse Management System and Mobile Supply Chain Application

Oracle Corporation has released Oracle Warehouse Management System and Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications, new products for warehouse and distribution centers. The Management System spans the areas of warehouse resource management, warehouse configuration, task scheduling, advanced pick methodologies, and value-added services—all fully supported through barcode and radio frequency mobile devices.

To simplify implementation, Oracle Warehouse Management System is delivered fully integrated, out of the box, as a part of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Oracle says that as a true execution system, their Warehouse Management System can support various picking methodologies such as directed picking and putaway, automated task dispatching, and compliance labeling. The user can configure these methodologies by utilizing a powerful business rules engine to tailor the management system to their specific requirements without the need for customization.

Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications provides barcode scanning and radio frequency mobile support for the existing Oracle Manufacturing, Quality, Receiving, Shipping and Inventory transactions. Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications may be used alone in locations where a full-blown warehouse management system is not required, or in conjunction with Oracle Warehouse Management System to provide complimentary execution support for manufacturing and quality applications.
