Ortronics introduces new range of OptiMo fiber optic products

July 4, 2005 — Ortronics/Legrand, a global leader in high performance structured cabling solutions, has introduced a new range of OptiMo fiber optic products, including rack mount fiber cabinets, fiber adapter panels and innovative cable management accessories, says the company.

The new line of OptiMo products offers improved cable management features and provides seamless integration with the Ortronics Mighty Mo 6 advanced copper and fiber cable management system, the company says.

Ideal for LAN or Data Center/SAN applications, Ortronics new OptiMo rack mount fiber cabinets are available in patch, splice, or patch/splice versions, in 1U, 2U, 3U and 4U sizes. They are engineered to provide unsurpassed stability and control of backbone cables as they enter the rear of the cabinet, and feature expanded rear access for easy installation and maintenance.

The new cabinets are significantly deeper than competing solutions, providing more space and enhanced features for managing optical fibers, says the company. They are designed around the award winning 10.5″ Mighty Mo 6 vertical channels, resulting in improved cable management and ensuring physical support of today’s larger active electronics. As a complement to the improved cable and internal fiber management, there are newly added features on the front of the cabinets, which greatly enhance the management of fiber patch cords as they exit the cabinets, says Ortronics.
