OSHA aligns with landscapers for worker safety

March 10, 2004—The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) have joined forces to further the safety and health of workers in large and small landscape businesses. The alliance will focus on reducing injuries and illnesses associated with manual material handling, amputations, motor vehicle crashes, and slip and trip injuries, with a special outreach to non-English-speaking workers. ALCA represents approximately 2,500 professional exterior and interior landscape maintenance, installation, and design/build contracting firms and suppliers nationwide.
